Communicable Disease Investigation Program

Our CDI Program is committed to promoting good health and disease prevention in Fresno County. Our program conducts investigations of reportable disease and conditions in hopes to identify source/risk factors, ensures diagnostic testing, provides education to reduce/prevent spread of disease.

  • Investigate reportable infectious diseases in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and track reportable diseases and conditions.
  • Notify the public of their risk for infectious diseases.
  • Investigate outbreaks and enact control measures to prevent further disease spread.
  • Assist healthcare partners in providing diagnostic testing & treatment of infectious diseases.
  • Provide patient education of infectious disease and ways to reduce spread.

We prepare for and respond to bioterrorism attacks and outbreaks that can impact the general public, and have action plans for specific agents that could lead to a widespread emergency.
