Childcare Health Linkages Program FAQs

What is the Childcare Health Linkages Program?

The Childcare Health Linkages Program is staffed by Public Health Nurses who are certified Childcare Health Consultants. The nurses provide health and safety consultation to the childcare community with an emphasis on serving childcare providers participating in the Fresno County Early Stars Program.

Any licensed or unlicensed childcare provider residing in Fresno County and serving children ages 0-5 may be eligible.

 

What services does the program provide?

The Public Health Nurse (PHN) is available by phone or in person at the child care site.

The PHN consultation can include:

  • Health/safety policy development

  • Assistance with communicable disease control

  • Health/safety coaching aligned with Fresno County Early Stars Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS)

  • Staff training on a variety of health/safety issues in the child care setting

  • Assistance with the inclusion of children with special needs in the childcare setting

Community Care Licensing, CA Department of Social Services

Child care licensing forms, new child care requirements, regulations, child care training, the Trustline registry, the administrator certification program, the Technical Support program, the Child Care Advocate Program, SIDS information and much more.

National Association for the Education of Young Children

Early childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of programs for children from birth through third grade work through Regional Affiliate Groups to improve professional practices and working conditions in early childhood education and build public support for high-quality, early childhood programs.

National Association for Family Child Care

The National Association for Family Child Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality child care by strengthening the profession of family child care.
