COUNTY OF FRESNO – STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Application
Zero-Emission Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Pilot
Request for community comment regarding the ZEV charging infrastructure pilot

FRESNO, CA – On March 5, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution #24-060, approving a Countywide goal of 80% Fleet electrification by 2050 and approving the Internal Services Department’s request to submit an application for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG).

The County of Fresno has been alloted $336,680 in program funds and should those funds be awarded, the Internal Services Department – Fleet Services Division will utilize the federal grant to move forward with the Zero-Emission Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Pilot (Pilot). The Pilot will consist of the installation of two Level-2 Chargers at four locations throughout the County. The locations were specifically chosen to ensure that the communities they are in will not be negatively impacted, and as they already have the electrical output capacity to support the installation of the charging infrastructure, minimal alterations will be required. The Pilot includes the installation of charging infrastructure at the following locations:

  1. Fleet Services: 4551 E. Hamilton Fresno, CA 93702
  2. Facilities Services: 4590 E. Kings Canyon Rd. Fresno, CA 93702
  3. Pontiac: 333 W. Pontiac Way Clovis, CA 93612
  4. M Street Garage: 901 M Street Fresno, CA 93721

The County of Fresno is dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and will use data from the Pilot to create a more precise and defensible electrification strategic plan.

The County of Fresno values the input of community members and will hold a 30-day period for public comment on the potential Pilot. If you are interested in expressing your opinion or would like to make a statement regarding the Pilot, please send an email to the EECBG Pilot mailbox at EECBG@fresnocountyca.gov.
