Vital Statistics – Birth and Death Certificate Services Holiday Schedule
Birth and Death Certificate services will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 31st and will be closed on:
• Thursday, December 25th
• Thursday, January 1st
Services will remain open on:
• Friday, December 26th
• Friday, January 2nd

Fee Update – Effective January 1, 2026
Per the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and pursuant to AB 64, there is a $2 fee increase to HSC 103625(f) beginning January 1, 2026. The fee increase is applicable to certified copies of birth, death, and fetal death certificates.
New fees as of January 1, 2026:
• Birth Certificate Fee: $31.00
• Death Certificate Fee: $26.00
• Fetal Death Certificate Fee: $23.00
Birth and Death Certificates
The Fresno County Department of Public Health, Vital Statistics Program registers all births and deaths and issues burial permits occurring in Fresno County.
Birth and Death Infoboard
Attention:
- The Fresno County Department of Public Health, Vital Statistics, only maintains records for 2 years from the date of birth or death (Health and Safety Code 102365).
- If you are requesting a record older than 24 months, contact the Fresno County Recorder at https://www.co.fresno.ca.us/departments/recorder
- The birth or death must have occurred in Fresno County.
Types of Certificates:
Authorized Certified Copy (Authorized individuals only. Sworn statement required.)
Informational Certified Copy (All other individuals. No sworn statement required.)
