Our duties are to provide public notice by accepting and recording legal documents required by law upon payment of proper fees and taxes, as well as maintaining birth, marriage, and death records and indices for Fresno County. It is our mission to provide for the orderly and expeditious recordation, archiving and retrieval of legal documents submitted and to provide for the efficient distribution to the public, and to educate the public in all the department's programs and provide our services with maximum transparency and consideration.

SB2 Fee Update

May 20, 2025

Effective May 26, 2025, the Fresno County Recorder's Office will begin applying the SB2 fee of $75.00 on every parcel included on a document that contains multiple parcels (unless that parcel is excluded from the SB2 fee per G.C. 27388.1).

The SB2 fee will continue to be capped at $225.00 per single parcel, therefore, if you have a single transaction where there are more than three real estate instruments, papers, or notices recorded in connection with one parcel, the SB2 fee will continue to be applied to only three.

Apostille Pop-Up Shop

The California Secretary of State's Office, in Partnership with Fresno County Assessor-Recorder Paul Dictos, will Host an Apostille Pop-Up Shop on October 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
