THE COUNTY OF FRESNO HOSTS A MULTI-AGENCY EDUCATIONAL VOCATIONAL EXERCISE FOR FRESNO UNIFIED STUDENTS
FRESNO, CA - On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the County of Fresno is hosting a Multi-Agency Educational Vocational Exercise (MAEVE) for Fresno Unified School District high school students at the north parking lot on the Fresno County fairgrounds, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The purpose of the event is to educate Fresno Unified students from the Public Service and Medical Pathways in Career Technical Education about civil and public service careers. The students will learn how numerous agencies collaborate in the event of a large-scale emergency and their responses during a simulated scenario. Students will move through stations, listening to briefings from agency representatives about their roles given the simulated scenario.
The agencies attending the event include the Fresno County Office of Emergency Services, County Administrative Office Public Information Office, CAL FIRE, Community Emergency Response Team, Fresno County Sheriff, Fresno Police, Fresno Fire, California Army National Guard, American Red Cross, Community Hospital, and American Ambulance. Fresno County Board Chairman Nathan Magsig will also be in attendance.
At the conclusion of the event at noon, students will go to the racetrack grandstands to witness the California Army National Guard helicopter demonstration.
Media are invited to attend anytime between 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. If you need B-roll, please contact Joshua Dean, Communication and Media Production Specialist, at jdean@fresnocountyca.gov.
