Parcel and Tract Maps for Recordation
The Clerk of the Board’s office receives all parcel and tract maps that need to be recorded.
Effective April 1, 2025 - The process for parcel and tract map recordation has been updated. Map representatives submitting maps are now responsible for delivering copies of the final map to the Assessor, Auditor-Controller (Special Accounting), and Tax Collector and receiving proper certification from appropriate departments before submitting the map to the Clerk’s office for recordation. Refer to this flowchart(PDF, 116KB) for more information.
The following must be received for the Clerk of the Board’s staff to accept a map:
- Original Mylar Map
- Legal Description
- Must match legal description on map verbatim
- Subdivision Guarantee
- Auditor-Controller’s Statement (Special Accounting Division)
- Tax Collector’s Certification
When a map is received in the Clerk’s office, staff will verify all required documents are submitted. Once verified, the Clerk’s office will complete the Clerk’s Certificate and deliver the map to the Recorder’s office.
