Recruitment for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election is now closed

 

Fresno County is proud to offer employment opportunities to High School students.

 

To work the election, you must meet the following criteria:

  • High school student that is at least 16 years of age
  • Have a GPA of at least 2.5
  • Be able to obtain a Workers Permit
  • A resident of the State of California
  • Be able to read and write in fluent English
  • Attend mandatory training classes prior to each election 
  • Have access to transportation
  • Be able to work from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm March 2, 2024 and March 3, 2024 and 6:00 am to 9:30 pm or later on March 5, 2024 (Election Day).  

     

    Positions

    Elections Workers (EW)

    Receive $15.50 an hour. An EW workers under the direction of an Elections Outreach Coordinator.

  • Prepare, open, maintain and close the Vote Center each day
  • Enforce and follow state and federal laws by performing tasks as instructed
  • Issue and receive official ballots from the voters
  • Attend mandatory training classes
