Maps for Recordation

All parcel and tract maps must be received by the Clerk of the Board before recordation.

Effective April 1, 2025 The process for parcel and tract map recordation has been updated.

Map Representatives are now responsible for delivering copies of the final map to the Assessor and Tax Collector and receiving proper certification from the appropriate departments before submitting the map to the Clerk of the Board for recordation. Refer to this flowchart for more information.

The following must be submitted in person to the Clerk of the Board:

  • Original Mylar Map
  • Legal Description – must match the legal description on the original mylar map verbatim
  • Subdivision Guarantee
  • Auditor-Controller Statement (Special Accounting Division)
  • Tax Collector Certification

Clerk staff will verify all required documents are included in the submission. Once verified, the Clerk’s office will complete the Tax Compliance Certificate and route the map to the Recorder.
