Community Plan Overview

What is a Community Plan?

Community plans provide more specific guidance for how land may be used and developed in Fresno County’s unincorporated communities. They build on the County’s General Plan by focusing on each community’s conditions, priorities, and future needs. Community plans help guide decisions about housing, transportation, roads and utilities, public services, and natural resources.

 

Riverdale Community Plan Update

Fresno County is updating the Riverdale Community Plan to reflect current community conditions, priorities, and long-term needs. The update will be developed with input from Riverdale residents, property owners, businesses, service providers, and other interested community members. 

Upcoming Riverdale Meetings

All meetings will be held at the Riverdale Unified Community Education Center and via Zoom from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Guidance Document for Community Plans & Prioritization Criteria

Fresno County is creating a Guidance Document to guide the future updating of its unincorporated community plans in Fresno County, establishing prioritization criteria for updating existing community plans, and establishing considerations to determine when it may be appropriate to create a new community plan. The Guidance Document recommends a format and content guidelines to be utilized in preparing updates to or establishing new community plans; additionally, it ensures consistency with the General Plan.

The County is currently requesting comments on the draft Guidance Document and Prioritization Criteria.  Please review the below draft documents, and provide comments by UPDATED* Friday, September 30th, 2022.
