Q: Will these changes effect my existing benefits if I have a Renewal, pending Intake application, or Semi-Annual Report (SAR7) due in August or September?

A: No. However, if you have an annual renewal, pending application, SAR7 or QR7 due in August or September, DSS strongly recommends you provide all documentation requested as soon as possible to allow for more time to process. Don't delay!

Q: What is BenefitsCal.com?

A: BenefitsCal.com is the new website where Fresno County residents are able to apply for, or manage their existing CalFresh, CalWORKS, General Relief and/or Medi-Cal benefits.

Q: What services are provided via BenefitsCal?

A: As a Fresno County resident, you can complete the following actions when using BenefitsCal:

  • Apply for CalFresh, CalWORKs, General Relief and/or Medi-Cal benefits

  • Submit your Annual Renewal

  • Upload additional documents

  • Report various changes

  • Submit Semi-Annual Report (SAR7) or Quarterly Report (QR7)

  • Review upcoming important appointments and due dates

Q: Why did this change taking place here in Fresno County?

A: This change is due to a statewide requirement for all counties in California to utilize one uniform, statewide automated site, instead of each County having their own individual sites.

Q. Will my MyBCW account information carry over automatically to BenefitsCal.com?

A: No. All individuals who currently have a registered account with MyBenefitsCalWIN.org (often referred to as MyBCW), will be required to create a new online account through BenefitsCal.com on or after 9/5/2023 at 7:00AM. MyBCW accounts are no longer active or accessible after 8/31/2023 at 5:00PM.

Q: Will my pre-existing case information change when I create my new BenefitsCal.com account?

A: No. Once your new account is created, you will be required to take additional steps to link your pre-existing case number. Once your case is linked, your pre-existing case information will be accessible through your new BenefitsCal account.
