Apply for a Building Permit via Citizens Portal

Permit Portal Welcome

The Public Works section of the Citizen Portal provides the ability to search for public records information and apply for Public Works permits.

The Citizen Portal can be accessed at the Fresno County Citizen Portal landing page.

Member Area - Login to Members Area or Register for Members Services

Use the "Member Area" link to apply for a new permit or to access and view details of permits already submitted. You must create a new account by registering a username and password in order to use this service. 

To register a new account: 

  1. Click the orange "Create an Account" button.
  2. Choose to register as a "Person" or an "Organization." If you are an individual registering as part of a company, please choose Organization so permits show your company's name on the records.
  3. Fill in account information as prompted. The address you enter should be the address for your company, not the address you will be applying for a permit on. 
  4. Click the "Submit" button.
  5. The system will send you a confirmation email to the address provided in step #3.  The email will contain a PIN and a link to complete your registration. If you do not see it in your email inbox, please check your spam/junk mail folder as your email provider may have mistakenly flagged it as spam mail. 
  6. If your email address already exists in the system, click on the "Forgot Password?" link on the login page.

 

Search Public Work - Search Fresno County Public Work Records

Click on the "Public Search" link to search for existing and current permits, licenses, and land use actions. Searches can be based on either property or permit information. You cannot access your permit applications from this section, you must log in to the Member Area to see your applications in progress.

The County of Fresno Department of Public Works and Planning / Development Services and Capital Projects Division does not request building permit payments without first sending the applicant a copy of the invoice and instructions.

El Departamento de Obras Públicas y Planificación / Servicios de Desarrollo y la División de Proyectos de Capital del Condado de Fresno no solicita pagos de permisos de construcción sin enviar primero al solicitante una copia de la factura y las instrucciones.
