Aged, Blind and Disabled (ABD) Medi-Cal

This program provides Medi-Cal services for people who are age 65 or older, blind, or persons who have a disability regardless of age or immigration status. Some of the services provided are:

• Medi-Cal program health care coverage
• Medicare premium payment program
• People in long term care or going to enter long term care (Convalescent hospital, skilled nursing, nursing home)
• SSI Medi-Cal Advocacy Services
• People who might be disabled and do not otherwise qualify can apply for Medi-Cal with this office
• People applying for IHSS services (In-Home Supportive Services) need to apply for Medi-Cal with this office

Persons may be eligible for ABD if they:

• Meet Medi-Cal income and residency requirements
• Are age 65 or older
• Disabled or blind
