Reschedule Online/Make appointments:  Probation Electronic Reporting Systems

If you have been ordered to complete AOWP, the Court is providing you an opportunity to complete community service work instead of serving time in jail. Each participant must be able to perform manual labor to participate in AOWP; therefore, if you have a pre-existing condition that prevents you from performing manual labor, you may be denied acceptance. Probation staff will determine your eligibility for the program after an initial intake fee is paid for an interview.  If accepted, a minimal fee is charged for each day of participation in the program. Probation has many worksites available to choose from and staff make every effort to locate a site that is appropriate and suitable for each participant that best meets their needs.

I have been ordered to complete the Adult Offender Work Program (AOWP) what do I do?

  1. Enroll in the program as soon as possible.
  • You can call the AOWP Office at (559) 600-5127 to schedule an appointment for an interview. You will need to provide the following information:
  1. Court case number
  2. Court “enroll by” date located on the minute order.

*Appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

**DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR “ENROLL BY” DATE AS YOU MAY BE DENIED ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PROGRAM.

Where is my enroll by date on the minute order?

Example:
Jail Imposed:

Serve 90 days at Fresno County Jail as to count(s) 001. XXXXX. Defendant Referred to Adult Offender Work Program. Defendant is ordered to enroll into program by January 1, 2020, to complete the remaining balance of custody time. If not enrolled by the date, defendant is ordered to turn themselves to the Fresno County Jail on January 1, 2020, to serve the balance of the time in custody.

Do you accept transfers, and/or can I transfer AOWP to another county?

  • If another county Court orders a transfer to Fresno County, we will accept the transfer if;
  1. The case meets the eligibility requirements for Fresno County
  2. Fresno County has an agreement with the other county to accept the transfer.
  • If the Fresno County Court grants a transfer to another county, we will transfer if:
  1. The case meets the eligibility requirements of the other county.
  2. Fresno County has an agreement with the other county to accept our case.

What if the Court orders me to be on the program immediately?

AOWP has walk-in days Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are on a first come first serve basis and a limited number of people will be seen.

What if I do not want to participate in the program or I am denied?

You must surrender yourself to the Fresno County jail on the Court ordered “enroll by” date located on your minute order by 6:45 PM.

What can I be denied for?

  1. Most offenses are accepted; however, serious felonies can be denied.
  2. If you are pending other serious charges.
  3. Medical conditions or restrictions that prevent you from performing physical or manual labor. If you have a medical condition, you must advise Probation staff immediately and you may be required to provide medical documentation. Eligibility will be determined by Probation staff. If you are denied due to a medical condition, you will receive a denial letter from Probation. You must surrender yourself to the Fresno County jail on the “enroll by” date located on your minute order by 6:45 PM or you can place your case back on calendar prior to your “enroll by” date to let the Court know you were denied

What if I do not live in the city of Fresno but in a city or town within Fresno County?

Probation has many worksites to choose from within the city and county of Fresno. Staff will make every effort to locate a site that is suitable for each participant.

Once enrolled in the program, and I miss a day, can I reschedule on-line?
