Quality Management involves work across multiple systems and disciplines within a practice. The Quality Management (QM) team is a group of individuals within a practice responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts to ensure policies and systems are in place to deliver the highest-quality services to our clients. The Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health QM team is part of the Planning & Quality Management (PQM) Division.
The QM team meets regularly to review performance data, identify areas needing improvement, and implement improvements, then carries out and monitors progress. For these activities, the team uses a variety of approaches and tools, including the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle. Activities also include data collection and analysis, workflow mapping, assessments of current practice, revisions to policies and procedures, program support, benchmarking, and research and implementation of best practices. QM focuses on systems and processes to enhance the quality of services we provide to all clients, improving services to the Department of Behavioral Health Persons Served, Families, and Caregivers in an efficient, effective, and appropriate manner.
