CALAIM

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is innovating and transforming the Medi-Cal delivery system.  CalAIM is moving Medi-Cal toward a population health approach that prioritizes prevention and whole-person care.  This transformation aligns Medi-Cal with a standardized, simplified system focused on helping enrollees live healthier lives. Success requires the investment and sustained commitment of a broad network of health partners, including providers, community-based organizations, local managed care plans, the Fresno County Mental Health Plan, and the Fresno County DMC Organized Delivery System.

Fresno County DBH is implementing procedural changes related to Payment Reform, Policy/Documentation Improvements, and Data Exchange to streamline care.  Beginning January 1, 2022, providers in Fresno County's Behavioral Health systems of care must implement these changes, using guidance manuals and webinars provided by CalMHSA.  This Joint Powers Authority assists counties in rolling out new standards and provides other tools
