Staff Development

The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) Staff Development Program utilizes Workforce Development Education and Training (WET) funding to improve the capacity of the behavioral health workforce. Because of the critical workforce shortages in behavioral health, the Mental Health Services Act is structures so funds can be used to train, develop, and recruit a diverse workforce including persons served, family members, licensed professionals and others who are qualified to deliver person served-driven, recovery-oriented, strengths-based services.
In concert, the DBH Staff Development Program coordinates trainings for both the Mental Health Plan and Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System staff and its provider network to support the professional development of our workforce.
