The Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards Training

The training is designed to equip public health professionals with the essential knowledge and tools for delivering culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate services and messages throughout the community.

CLAS Standards Plays a Crucial Role in Addressing:

  • Health disparities in the community and bridging the gaps.
  • Promoting health equity and increasing access to services.
  • Ensuring that everyone, regardless of their cultural background or language proficiency, has access to public health information and services that are easy to understand, provides effective messaging, and is respectful to their unique needs.

Public Health Professionals can use the CLAS toolkit to evaluate health education materials like flyers, brochures, PowerPoint, and more! The training focuses on how the materials are organized, writing style, appearance, appeal, translation, reading level, and accessibility.

We highly encourage all public health professionals to attend the training that works with community members. Public Health Professionals may consist of but is not limited to Epidemiologists, Health Educators, Community Health Workers, Health Policy Analysts, Healthcare Researchers, Public Health Administrators, Government Health Agencies, Nonprofit Organizations Focused on Public Health, and Individuals Committed to Advancing Equitable Public Health Services.
