The Fresno County Department of Public Health, Vital Statistics Program registers all births and deaths and issues burial permits occurring in Fresno County.

The Fresno County Department of Public Health, Vital Statistics, only maintains records for 2 years from the date of birth or death (Health and Safety Code 102365).

If you are requesting a record older than 24 months, contact the Fresno County Recorder at https://www.co.fresno.ca.us/departments/recorder

The birth or death must have occurred in Fresno County.

The Vital Statistics program assists with Out-of-Hospital Birth Registration for children under one year of age born in Fresno County. As part of the Parentage Opportunity Program, the Vital Statistics program is an authorized agency to witness a Voluntary Declaration of Parentage.
