Fight the Flu

Promotes flu vaccination, hygiene practices, and awareness to combat the flu, safeguarding public health during flu season.

Welcome to Fresno County's "Fight the Flu" initiative, dedicated to promoting flu vaccination, hygiene practices, and awareness throughout the community. With flu season posing a significant health risk each year, our program aims to educate residents about the importance of vaccination and preventive measures to combat the spread of influenza. Through public outreach, vaccination clinics, and educational campaigns, we strive to protect the health and well-being of all Fresno County residents during flu season and beyond.

Here's Why

You Need A Shot Every Year

A flu vaccine is needed every year for two reasons. First, a persons immune protection from vaccination declines over time, so an annual flu vaccine is needed for optimal protection. Second, because flu viruses are constantly changing, the composition of flu vaccines are updated to protect against the viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming flu season. For the best protection, everyone 6 months and older should get vaccinated annually.
